At low tide, an expanse of sand is exposed, providing a varied beach experience. The beach is used for various activities, including fishing, bathing, sailing, and windsurfing.
Nearby Worthing Pier, built in 1862, features a theatre, an amusement arcade, and recently renovated tea rooms. Worthing Lido Entertainment Centre is located on the western side of the pier, while Splashpoint Leisure Centre, behind the beach, offers an indoor swimming facility. The town centre of Worthing is just a short walk away, providing access to large shops, restaurants, and cafes.
Worthing hosts an annual festival on the last full weekend of July, which attracts visitors from across the region. The area around Worthing has a rich history, with evidence of human habitation dating back at least 6,000 years. The region is also notable for containing Britain's greatest concentration of Stone Age flint mines, some of the earliest mines in Europe.
The seafront in Worthing features a five-mile award-winning promenade, lined with palm trees, and offers a range of traditional seaside entertainment options. The beach is family-friendly, with plenty of activities and attractions to enjoy, including Worthing Pier and the amusements at Worthing Lido.
