Lleiniog Penmon Beach, situated on the north-eastern corner of Anglesey, is a picturesque long sand and shingle beach offering stunning views of the Menai Straits and beyond.

Lleiniog Penmon Beach is a long sandy rural beach located on the shores of the Menai Straits. The beach is set within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, making it a popular destination for those who enjoy coastal walks with outstanding views. The backdrop of the beach features old woodlands that fringe the Menai Strait, providing great views to mainland Wales, Snowdon, and the surrounding mountains.

The beach offers a dramatic setting where golden sands meet the deep blues of the Irish Sea. The rugged coastline and sweeping views from Penmon Point make it an ideal spot for photography and simply soaking in the natural beauty. Visitors can walk along the Anglesey Coastal Path, explore the nearby Penmon Priory and Aberlleiniog castle, or take boat trips around Puffin Island, a Special Protection Area (SPA) for wildlife. The beach is also popular for wild swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding, fishing, and rockpooling.

Due to the significant tidal range in the area, parts of the beach can vanish or transform dramatically between high and low tide. Visitors are advised to check local tide timetables before exploring, especially if planning to wander along the rocky stretches around Penmon Point. The region is a haven for birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts, with a variety of species that add a subtle charm to a visit.

While facilities directly at Penmon Beach can be minimal, nearby Penmon village offers amenities such as cafes and shops. It's wise to pack your own refreshments and essentials when visiting the beach. Visiting outside of the midsummer rush not only grants a more peaceful experience but also allows you to enjoy the beach at its most dramatic during early morning or late afternoon when the light accentuates the rugged coastline.
