Pentraeth Beach, located on the north-eastern side of Anglesey, is a beautiful sandy spot that offers stunning natural scenery and a range of outdoor activities.

Pentraeth Beach is part of Red Wharf Bay, a large bay that forms an extensive area of fine sand at low tide. The bay is a designated nature reserve, featuring a mix of sandy stretches, shingle, and rock along its shoreline. The beach is backed by low sand dunes, which are home to interesting flora, including the pyramidal orchid.

The beach and surrounding bay are known for their rich wildlife, with areas of salt marsh and extensive flats that attract various waterfowl, such as purple sandpipers, curlew, shelduck, and dunlin. At low tide, the whole bay empties, revealing a vast expanse of sand that stretches off into the distance.

The beach at Pentraeth has good access, with free parking available practically on the beach itself. A slipway also provides easy access onto the sand. However, visitors should be cautious, as the tide can come in quickly once it has turned, and care should be taken not to find oneself cut off from the coast.

Pentraeth Beach is adjacent to the Anglesey Coast Path and the Wales Coast Path.
