Red Wharf Bay, located on the east coast of Anglesey, is a large and scenic bay that offers a diverse range of activities and attractions for visitors.

Red Wharf Bay is situated between the villages of Pentraeth and Benllech, and also near to Llanddona. The bay is a large, sweeping sandy beach that, at low tide, reveals an extensive area of fine sand covering nearly 10 square miles.

The bay is a designated nature reserve and attracts an abundance of birdlife, making it a popular destination for twitchers. Regular visitors include waders and waterfowl such as purple sandpipers, curlew, shelduck, and dunlin. The bay's salt marshes and sand dunes provide a habitat for several interesting plant species, including the pyramidal orchid, which favours the lime-rich dunes.

The bay offers basic amenities, including toilets and a beach café. However, visitors can also travel to the nearby village of Llanddona or Beaumaris for a wider choice of amusements. The village of Llanddona is famous for its tales of witchcraft, and 'the witches of Llanddona' are well-known. The bay is perfect for bathing, paddling, beach combing, and walking. Families can enjoy relaxing on the beach, while nature lovers can explore the abundant wildlife, and ramblers can head out along the Anglesey Coastal Path. Boating and sailing are also popular activities in the bay.

The bay is bordered by the villages of Llanddona and Benllech, and there are several restaurants with great views over the bay, including The Ship Inn, The Tavern on the Bay, and The Boathouse. Castell Mawr, an outcrop of limestone, overlooks the bay and provides a glimpse into the area's rich history.
