Seaton Beach is a large, south-facing beach composed of grey sand and pebbles, situated on the south coast of Cornwall at the mouth of the River Seaton. The beach is approximately 550 metres wide and is surrounded by gently sloping hills and cliffs. It is located three miles east of Looe and stretches from the mouth of the River Seaton to the resort of Downderry, about a mile to the east.
The beach features a mix of grey pebbles and coarse sand, and at low tide, a significant area of flat sand is exposed, allowing for walks along the foreshore towards Downderry and Looe. The beach is bordered by flat rocks that reveal rock pools, making it an engaging spot for children. A range of amenities are available, including a large café, shop, and toilet facilities on the beachfront, as well as a children's play park located on the green behind the beach.
Seaton Beach is a dog-friendly beach all year round, allowing pets to enjoy the sandy shores alongside their families. A seasonal lifeguard post is also located on the beach, providing added safety for visitors. The beach is backed by a country park that offers pleasant walks along the Seaton Valley, and the surrounding hills and cliffs provide stunning views of Looe Island.
Seaton Beach is adjacent to the South West Coast Path.
