Teignmouth Town Beach is a popular seaside destination in Devon, offering a long stretch of sandy coastline and a range of activities for visitors.

Teignmouth Town Beach is situated close to the mouth of the Teign Estuary on the south coast of Devon. The beach is a sandy resort, approximately one kilometre wide, with a pier, backed by a promenade and the town. It is a traditional South Devon seaside resort with fine examples of Georgian architecture and a Victorian pier.

The Town Beach offers a vast expanse of golden sand, perfect for building sandcastles, playing beach games, or simply sitting in the sunshine and enjoying the views. The clean waters are home to plenty of sea life, and dolphins have occasionally been spotted offshore. The Victorian Grand Pier, built over 150 years ago, suffered extensive storm damage in 2014 but has been restored. The pier has an amusement arcade and fine views back towards the town. Along the seafront, young children might enjoy the award-winning Den play area.

The beach caters to various interests, including swimming, paddleboarding, sunbathing, beach games, and sandcastle building. Visitors can watch working fishing boats, enjoy an activity trail, or simply stroll along the expansive promenade, which is suitable for everyone, including those with mobility needs. For added safety, RNLI lifeguard service is provided from Whitsun to the first week in September.

Practical amenities include ample car parking spaces on the road, public and disabled toilets, baby care facilities, and showers. The beach's proximity to the town center means visitors have easy access to additional dining and shopping options.

It's essential to note some regulations: dogs are not permitted on the main beach between the slipway at Eastcliff and the lighthouse at the point from April 1 to September 30. However, they are allowed in other areas year-round. For water enthusiasts, watercraft are permitted but must use a marked access lane and are not allowed between the yellow marker buoys and the shoreline to protect bather safety. In the winter months, the beach transforms into a popular spot for dog walkers and surfers.

Teignmouth Town Beach is adjacent to the South West Coast Path.
