Torre Abbey Beach is a large sandy beach, approximately 800 metres wide, with a small rocky cove next to the headland. The beach is mainly sand, with some rocky sections, and features abundant rockpools. It is backed by a promenade and a large grassy area known as Torre Abbey Meadows.
The beach is situated just west of Torquay Marina and Harbour, and is easily accessible from the town centre. It is a popular destination for families, with shallow, safe waters and a sheltered aspect making it ideal for swimming and water activities.
The beach offers a range of facilities, including deckchairs for hire, water sports enthusiasts can go sailing and windsurfing, and lifeguards are on duty during the holidays. The beach is also wheelchair friendly and has easy access for disabled holidaymakers.
The beach is dog friendly between 1st October and 30th April, but has restricted access for dogs during the summer months.
Visitors can take a walk along the promenade, explore Abbey Meadows and Gardens on the seafront, and experience the history and heritage of the area by visiting the iconic Torre Abbey.
Torre Abbey Beach is adjacent to the South West Coast Path.
