Anstey's Cove is a small, secluded cove situated between Babbacombe and Torquay. The beach is approximately 120 metres wide and nestles between high cliffs and a thickly wooded hillside. It features a shingle and rock beach, with a steep path leading down from the cliffs above.
Redgate Beach is a charming little cove located close to Torquay and just around the headland from Anstey's Cove. The beach boasts clear blue water, a small strip of sand and shingle, and is backed by steep wooded cliffs.
Unfortunately, Redgate Beach is currently closed to the public due to safety concerns. The beach becomes cut off from the mainland at high tide, making it unsafe for visitors. Additionally, the surrounding cliffs are deemed unstable, posing a risk to those attempting to access the beach.
Anstey's Cove, on the other hand, offers a beach café where visitors can stop off for refreshments. The cove is also a popular spot for sport climbing, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding (SUP). Dogs are allowed on the beach all year round.
Redgate Beach is adjacent to the South West Coast Path.
