Meadfoot Beach is situated in a tranquil setting, nestled between imposing cliffs that offer a perfect vantage point for wildlife observers. The beach itself is a mix of sand and shingle, with a small stretch of shingle beach providing a quieter environment for those looking to relax. The cliffs are home to a large colony of Guillemots, with Torbay boasting the largest colony along the south coast of England.
The beach offers a range of facilities, including beach huts, a lost child centre, and deckchair hire. A split-level promenade runs along the beach, offering limited parking and backing onto a tree-covered hillside. Visitors can also enjoy a range of amenities, including a cafe, restaurant, and bistro at the nearby Osbourne Hotel.
Meadfoot Beach is a popular spot for swimming, with the water considered suitable for the activity. The beach is also dog-friendly in the north, but dogs are restricted in the south between designated signs. Visitors can also launch their boats from a ramp located at the rocky northern end of the beach.
