Mothecombe Beach, located on the south coast of Devon, is a large expanse of sand that is a traditional family beach, offering a unique experience for visitors.

Mothecombe Beach is situated at the mouth of the Erme Estuary and is a remote sandy bay, approximately 330 metres wide, backed by sand dunes and cliffs. A stream flows onto the beach to the sea. The beach is privately owned and maintained by the Flete Estate, and has remained completely unspoilt, with the only buildings being an old boathouse and a lime kiln.

There are two parts to the beach: Meadowsfoot, which is a privately owned beach and is open to the public on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays; and the nearby Coastguard's Beach, which has free public access. The beach is accessed via a narrow, wooded path, which is fine for pushchairs but may be challenging for wheelchair users. A large grass car park with toilets and a tea shop is available in the estate's grounds.

Please note that BBQs and fires on the beaches are strictly prohibited at all times. Access to the beach is restricted out of season, and paths from the car park down to the beach are not suitable for wheelchairs.

Mothecombe Beach is on the South Devon Heritage Coast, and adjacent to the South West Coast Path.
