Mothecombe is at the mouth of the Erme Estuary on the south coast of Devon. It is a remote sandy bay, approximately 330 metres wide, backed by sand dunes and cliffs. A stream flows onto the beach to the sea.
The beach is privately owned and maintained by the Flete Estate and has remained completely unspoilt, with the only buildings being an old boathouse and the lime kiln. Access to the beach is restricted out of season.
Mothecombe Beach is on the South Devon Heritage Coast, and adjacent to the South West Coast Path.
