Aldeburgh Beach, situated on the Suffolk coast, is a popular seaside destination known for its unique sand and shingle shoreline and rich cultural heritage. .

Aldeburgh is a mid-sized town located on the Suffolk coast, nestled between a sand and shingle beach and the river Aide. The beach can be challenging to walk along, with a higher concentration of shingle near the town centre. Despite this, Aldeburgh Beach remains one of Suffolk's most well-known beaches, offering a range of facilities and attractions.

The beach is backed by the charming seaside town of Aldeburgh, which boasts a number of quirky historic buildings, including the 400-year-old Moot Hall, a Martello tower, a converted windmill, and a Norman church. The town has strong cultural connections, particularly with composer Benjamin Britten, who is commemorated by the Scallop monument on the beach. The Scallop, designed by Suffolk artist Maggi Hambling, features an inscription from Britten's famous opera 'Grimes': "I hear those voices that will not be drowned".

Visitors to Aldeburgh Beach can enjoy a relaxing traditional seaside holiday, taking in the miles of unspoilt coastline. The town is famous for its brightly painted former fishermen's cottages and has been home to several celebrity residents. The summer holidays attract families from far and wide, who come to enjoy the town's many amenities and attractions. In addition to its cultural experiences, Aldeburgh is renowned for its excellent fish and chips, which have been rated as the best on the East coast.

For dog owners, there is a mile of dog-friendly beach located just to the north of Aldeburgh, stretching from the Wentworth Hotel to Thorpeness.

Aldeburgh Beach is on the Suffolk Heritage Coast.
