Arnside Beach is a small, picturesque beach located on the River Kent estuary, offering stunning views of Morecambe Bay and the surrounding countryside.

Arnside Beach is situated close to where the River Gilpin's estuary leads into Morecambe Bay. The beach is backed by some hotels and bordered by a long viaduct. The village of Arnside is located in an idyllic setting, in an area which has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The beach has a small sandy area, but it is not suitable for swimming or for children to play on due to the presence of dangerous quicksands. The beach is tidal, and the tide moves in surprisingly quickly. Visitors can stroll along the attractive Victorian promenade, which features a small selection of shops, cafes, and pubs, as well as a popular fish and chip shop and a small pier.

The promenade is a popular spot for a leisurely walk, and there is also a coastal path at the end of the promenade which is popular with dog-walkers and perfect for an evening stroll. There are no restrictions on dog walking. Visitors can also enjoy stunning coastal walks and trails, as well as hikes to the ruins of the Arnside Tower.

The natural surroundings and sandy Arnside Beach make it a favourite destination for walkers and nature lovers. The beach is dog friendly and perfect for a long walk. Visitors can stop in for tea and a snack at the Beach Walk Cafe along the way.

Parking along the promenade is free, and it is usually easy to find a parking spot, except for the occasional weekend in high season. Every few weeks, Arnside experiences a small tidal wave known as “The Bore”, which can be a spectacular sight. There is a youth hostel for young travellers and hotels for tourists staying in the area.

Arnside Beach is adjacent to the Cumbria Coastal Way.
