Ideally situated on a picturesque working farm in the south of the island, this spacious, comfy and tranquil stable conversion is an ideal holiday base for a family enjoying this beautiful area.
This lovely cottage nestles on a lovely working farm. You will be free to stroll across the farm fields of the farm and around the lovely fishing lake in the grounds of the Manor House. You can also follow the farm’s nature trail and enjoy a wonderful range of wildlife, including herons, geese, swallows, kestrels, pheasants, foxes, badgers and rabbits. Cows are kept on the farm and there’s a children’s area with small rare-breed bagot goat and free-range hens. A cycle track leads to Sandown, Newport and Cowes, and there are attractive walks by the River Yar. Nearby are the villages of Godshill and Arreton. The sandy beaches of Shanklin and Ventnor are just a short drive away.
On entering this lovingly converted barn, built from Island chalk and brick and adjoining what was originally the old farm granary, you will find yourself in the spacious and attractive open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with a wonderful vaulted ceiling and large ancient beams. With plenty of comfy seating and TV/DVD, the bright and welcoming lounge is an ideal space for relaxing in. You will also find a delightful dining area, and the kitchen is fully equipped with a gas oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer. Exploring this lovely single-level property further you will find two delightful bedrooms. There’s a cosy twin room and a double room which has an en-suite bathroom complete with a shower over the bath and a WC. A folding bed is also available. There is also a bathroom with a bath, hand-held shower and WC.
Stepping outside, you will find a charming enclosed patio-style garden with garden furniture so you can enjoy dining al fresco. There is direct access to a large grass area which is good for playing games and enjoying a BBQ. A mown path also leads to the beautiful fishing lakes on the farm. Arrangements can be made for visitors to fish here. Two cars can be parked beside the cottage.
