Description

This pretty stone cottage is a delightful 18th century Grade II listed barn conversion situated on a lovely 12 acre farm surrounded by beautiful countryside and ideal for enjoying the idyllic coast.

You can enjoy delightful walks directly from the cottage with footpaths joining the picturesque Bembridge Trail over the downs. The lovely rural village of Newchurch, which has a beautiful church and a good public house for meals, is walking distance from the cottage. Borthwood Copse, a great place for seeing red squirrels, is nearby, as is the beautiful Alverstone Mead Nature Reserve. A short drive will take you to the glorious sandy beaches of Sandown and Shanklin. Other beaches can be found at Seaview, St Helens, Bembridge and Whitecliff. Places to visit include the Amazon Adventure, The Garlic Farm, The Roman Villa and Carisbrooke Castle, or you can take a trip on the steam railway from Havenstreet.

On entering this lovely Grade II listed cottage, which has been lovingly converted from an 18th century barn, you will find yourself in the lovely, light and spacious lounge. With comfy seating, TV/DVD/video and a hi-fi system, this is an ideal space to unwind in. You will also find a charming dining area by a window with delightful views across fields towards the downs. Heading into the stylishly designed kitchen you will find it fully equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge. A washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer are also provided. Exploring the ground floor further you will find two of the cottage’s three cosy bedrooms. There’s a double room and a twin room. There is also a bathroom complete with a bath, separate shower and WC. A spiral staircase leads you up to an additional attractive double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom complete with WC.

At the rear of the cottage there is a lovely fenced garden with wonderful open views across the fields to Arreton and Mersley Downs. You can relax on the attractive terrace which has garden furniture, a lawn and a BBQ area. A BBQ can be made available free of charge on request. This pretty cottage is situated on a 12 acre farm with horses, surrounded by beautiful open countryside, and the cottage also overlooks a large open grassy courtyard which is often visited by ducks. Stables are on two sides of the courtyard, and an 18th century threshing barn and farmhouse are on the other side. Two cars can be parked at the rear of the cottage. Please note, access to the cottage is along a bridleway and private lane which is bumpy in places.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.
