Gelliswick Bay is a sheltered sand and shingle bay located within the industrialised waterway of Milford Haven in Pembrokeshire, Wales.
Gelliswick Bay is a popular spot for launching boats into the Milford Haven waterway. The bay's name is derived from the Vikings, who invaded this part of the Pembrokeshire coast, with the 'vik' suffix meaning harbour. The beach is surrounded by cliffs, with Fort Hubberston, built in 1863, located to the east. At low tide, a wide stretch of sand is revealed, although nowadays the beach is more commonly used for water sports.
The bay is home to the Pembrokeshire Yacht Club, which hosts regular events and occasionally national competitions. The beach is ideal for watersports, with kayakers and small boats frequently seen. However, there are no facilities on the beach, and visitors are advised to plan accordingly.
The beach itself is composed of shingle and rock, making it unsuitable for building sandcastles. The view from the beach is dominated by the long pier leading to the oil refinery. A walk along the beach or a dip on a warm day can be enjoyed, and the beach is also a nice spot to take the dog for a walk.
Gelliswick Bay is adjacent to the Pembrokeshire Coast Path and the Wales Coast Path.
