The Victoria pool is a large tidal marine pool situated on the eastern side of St Aubin's Bay. It is essentially a horseshoe-shaped protective wall that allows beach-goers to bathe in a protected area, while still being in the sea. The pool has a sloping sandy bottom, similar to the surrounding beach, and reaches a maximum depth of around 3 metres (10ft).
The pool was opened in 1897 to celebrate Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee. At high tide, the pool becomes completely submerged and is only really effective three hours either side of high tide. This means that visitors can enjoy the pool for a limited time around high tide.
The Victoria pool is set amidst a large sandy beach and offers plenty of facilities for visitors. The surrounding area of St Aubin's Bay is also worth exploring, with its own charm and attractions.
Nearby Bouley Bay is a charming fishing port with a small sandy beach and cafe, offering an alternative destination for those looking to explore the area.
