Havre des Pas Beach is a town beach comprising pebbles and sand, with a promenade that runs along its length, making it ideal for walking on sunny summer days. The beach is mainly composed of coarse sand, with some seaweed exposed at low tide. A notable feature of the beach is the large tidal bathing pool, originally built in the 1890s and re-designed in Art Deco style in the 1920s. The pool fills with fresh seawater, providing a popular bathing destination for both locals and tourists.
The beach is south-facing and generally quite sheltered from sea breezes. A pier extends into the sea, adding to the beach's charm. Nearby, visitors can find toilets, shops, and a variety of places to eat. Although parking close to the beach is fairly limited, St Helier's main car parks are not too far away, providing alternative parking options.
While Havre des Pas Beach is a notable destination, nearby Bouley Bay is a charming fishing port with a small sandy beach and cafe, worth visiting for those exploring the area.
