Pentewan Beach is a privately owned sandy beach resort, approximately 1.1 kilometres wide, close to a camp site. The beach is well maintained and offers a range of facilities, making it an ideal spot for families. The beach faces east into St Austell Bay and is generally pretty sheltered from the wind and waves, making it a great spot for a variety of watersports.
The beach offers a range of activities, including swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking, and sailing. Equipment rentals are available right on the beach, and there is a children's play area perfect for little ones. The easy, level access from the car park makes it a breeze to bring all your beach gear to and from the shore.
Pentewan Beach is located near Pentewan village, which has an old harbour. Although the harbour is silted up and effectively cut off from the sea, it is still a fascinating place to look around. The beach is privately owned, but access is allowed from Pentewan village. There is limited space at the Pentewan village car park.
There is a seasonal dog ban from March 1st to November 1st. Visitors should be aware of this restriction when planning their trip.
Pentewan Beach is part of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is an excellent starting point for exploring the stunning Cornish landscape. The South West Coast Path and the Pentewan Valley Trail offer breathtaking sea views and peaceful woodland walks.
