Berrow North Beach is a fairly remote, west-facing beach that forms part of the vast expanse of sand and mudflats between Brean and Burnham on Sea. The beach is approximately 6.4 kilometres wide and is backed by sand dunes. It is a popular destination for walkers, beach sports enthusiasts, and anglers.
The beach is favoured by walkers and beach-sports enthusiasts, and fishing is permitted for three hours a day, either side of high tide. The Sundowner Cafe Bar is located near the entrance to the beach. Visitors can also enjoy horse riding and dog walking on the beach, which is dog friendly.
At low tide, the wide expanse of wet mudflats revealed can be hazardous, with sections of dangerous sinking sands. Visitors are advised to observe the safety notices.
The village of Brean is approximately one mile south of the beach, offering plenty of parking. The craggy promontory of Brean Down, north of the beach, is home to some interesting plant and wildlife and offers spectacular sea views. A walk south along the sand towards the lighthouse at Burnham-on-Sea is also a popular activity.
