Dunglass Beach is a scenic coastal spot located in East Lothian, Scotland, characterised by its unique rocky shoreline and surrounding landscape.
Dunglass Beach is situated at the seaward end of a steep river valley, which carries the Dunglass Burn to the sea. The beach itself is a mix of rural shingle and rock, backed by grassy slopes and low-rise cliffs. The Dunglass Burn enters the sea close by, after winding its way through a steep, wooded gorge.
The area features interesting rock formations, including sandstone arches, particularly towards Bilsdean. These formations add to the natural beauty of the beach and make it a fascinating spot for visitors.
The beach is popular with walkers, as the 134-mile-long John Muir Way Path, which links Edinburgh to the Scottish Borders, passes along a section of the beach. The coastline is also a good place to see wildfowl and waders, including redshank and curlew. To the north of the beach lies the Torness Power Station.
