Spittal Beach, located on the Northumberland coast, is a popular destination for those seeking a relaxing day out or a bracing walk along the seafront.

Spittal Beach is a gently sloping resort beach approximately one kilometre long, situated immediately south of the mouth of the River Tweed. The beach is mainly sand with shallow water at high tide, making it an ideal spot for families. Spittal lies on the Northumberland coast about half a mile south of Berwick-upon-Tweed.

Visitors have been coming to Spittal since the 18th century, when it was a popular spa and bathing resort. The beach is within a Northumberland coast area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, stretching down from the mouth of the River Tweed to the cliffs at Bear Head. The predominantly sandy beach is backed by a promenade, providing a perfect spot for bracing walks looking out across the North Sea.

Wading birds can usually be found on the beach, and it is not uncommon to spot seals bobbing up and down in the surf, or even the occasional dolphin. The Northumberland Coast Path runs down from Berwick to Holy Island and beyond that down to Druridge Bay. The town has a family fun centre, shops, and places to eat, while more extensive facilities can be found in historic Berwick-upon-Tweed.

The sandy beach at Spittal runs from the River Tweed to the cliffs at Bears Head and is family-friendly, with a splash park and children's play area on the beach front. There is also a traditional arcade and cafe for snacks and refreshments.

Cars can be parked at the Spittal Beach Car Park on S. Greenwich Road, providing easy access to the beach.

Spittal Beach is adjacent to the Northumberland Coast Path.
