Marske Sands is a sand and shingle beach situated between Redcar and Saltburn, with Saltburn Pier located to the south of the beach. The beach is a gently-sloping sandy beach fronting the town of Marske-by-the-Sea, with a designated bathing water that is 800 metres long.
The beach offers a range of activities, including surfing, boating, windsurfing, fishing, swimming, and walking. The wide beach provides an excellent opportunity to stretch your legs, particularly when the tide is out and a vast, flat, sandy area is exposed. Visitors can access the beach down a slipway found at the end of High Street, and parking is available in the town. The village of Marske-by-the-Sea also offers a range of facilities, including shops, restaurants, pubs, and public toilets.
The village of Marske-by-the-Sea has a lot to offer, including a museum in an old cottage known as Winkies Castle, which is run by volunteers and features rotating exhibitions. A railway station in the village provides services to Darlington. Visitors can also enjoy a stroll along the beautiful long sandy stretch of coast at Marske Beach, which is backed by a grassy area with lots of wide open space.
The beach can be easily accessed from the village, with a small car park close to the beach for visitors. The village is also accessible by train, with a railway station offering services to Darlington.
