Redcar Stray Beach is the southernmost of four designated bathing beaches in the resort of Redcar. It is situated to the southeast of the town, between the edge of Redcar and the village of Marske-by-the-Sea. The beach is a gently-sloping sandy beach, backed by a grassy area that separates it from the road, with fields located behind.
The beach is a popular spot for various activities, including bathing, surfing, kite surfing, and windsurfing. At low tide, the beach is wide and relatively flat, but much of it becomes covered by water at high tide. Visitors can access the beach via a short path from a car park located on Coast Road, which also offers toilets and disabled parking.
Further facilities can be found in the town of Redcar, including a railway station, an amusement park, a lifeboat museum, and many shops, pubs, places to eat, and places to stay. The beach's rural setting makes it a great option for those seeking a more peaceful experience, away from the crowds that can be found in the centre of Redcar.
In comparison to other local beaches, Redcar Stray Beach offers a more relaxed atmosphere, making it an ideal choice for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the town centre.
