Saltburn Beach, located on the Yorkshire coast, is a popular seaside resort with a rich heritage dating back to the Victorian era.

Saltburn Beach is a gently-sloping sandy resort beach backed by cliffs, featuring a sand and shingle beach with a promenade and a pier. The pier, which is the last remaining pier in Yorkshire, was originally 1,500ft in length but now stands at less than half this length due to years of neglect and damage.

The town of Saltburn was developed during the Industrial Revolution, driven by the local iron industry. Many Victorian-era features remain, including the pier, the cliff tramway, and the formal Italian Gardens, which are served by a miniature railway. The cliff tramway, also known as the Saltburn Cliff Tramway, is a hydraulic cliff lift that provides access to the beach from the higher parts of the town and is the UK's oldest water-balanced funicular lift.

The beach itself offers a range of activities, including surfing, which is a popular pastime due to the beach's north-facing orientation, picking up more swell than neighbouring spots, and its protection from the wind by the headland of Huntcliff at the eastern end. Visitors can also ride on the Victorian tram, which runs from the cliff to the promenade during the summer months.
