Newbiggin Moor Beach, located in Northumberland, offers a diverse range of beaches and coastal experiences for visitors to enjoy.
Newbiggin Moor Beach is a sandy beach interspersed with rocky outcrops and a reef offshore, stretching from Church Point in the south to Beacon Point in the north. Access to the beach is available on foot around the golf course or from Church Point and the caravan site.
Newbiggin East Beach, situated just around Church Point to the north of the main beach, is a fairly narrow strip of sand backed by the golf club, giving way to rocks beyond the tide line. The beach improves the further one heads from the town, with more sand and fewer people towards the northern end. The extensive rocks are home to a host of rockpools, making it an ideal spot for wildlife watching, particularly for birdlife. This beach is most commonly used by dog walkers, as it remains quiet and dog-friendly throughout the year.
Newbiggin Bay boasts a wide, sweeping sandy beach, ideal for families on a summer's day. The beach features 'The Couples Statue' looking out to sea. A walk along the sea front leads to the Newbiggin Maritime Centre, a museum displaying local history. Visitors can also stop for lunch at the cafe overlooking the beach.
