Castletown Beach is situated in a large, horseshoe-shaped bay and is backed by the historic town of Castletown, which features a well-preserved castle. The beach itself is a mix of pebbles and sand, with a good stretch of sand revealed at low tide.
The old Manx capital of Castletown lies in the bay and was built around the harbour at the mouth of the Silverburn river. At higher tides, the beach consists largely of fairly unwelcoming pebbles.
This beach offers good walking opportunities and is popular with windsurfers. The combination of the beach, the historic town, and the castle make Castletown a unique destination for visitors.
Castletown Beach is adjacent to the Isle of Man Coastal Path.
