The beach at Ramsey is a sweeping stretch of sand interrupted by the pier and the breakwaters, marking the mouth of the river Sulby. The town of Ramsey is the second largest on the island and features a busy shopping street and working harbour.
Ramsey Beach is situated just one minute away from the town centre of Ramsey. The beach is bordered on one side by the impressive, Victorian-era Queen's Pier, which is currently undergoing extensive restoration efforts after being closed to the public in 1991. The pier stretches 2160 feet (600m) into the sea. On the other side of the beach are two stone piers, which mark the spot where the island's largest river, the Sulby, meets the sea.
Nearby Ramsey harbour is still a fully working harbour, allowing visitors to watch ships come and go. A popular promenade runs the length of the beach, taking walkers into the centre of town. The town of Ramsey offers a range of amenities, including a busy shopping street, several popular pubs, and restaurants.
Ramsey Beach is adjacent to the Isle of Man Coastal Path.
