Porthtowan Beach is situated on the north coast of Cornwall, within the St Agnes Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). The beach is approximately 370 metres wide and is flanked by steep cliffs. A stream disperses over the sand in the centre of the beach, adding to its natural charm. The beach is north-west-facing, making it a popular spot for surfers.
The beach offers a range of amenities, including a large car park, cafes, shops, a surf shop, and toilets. Porthtowan is a short walk from neighbouring Chapel Porth, and the two beaches join up at low tide. The beach is a popular destination for both surfers and families, providing a fun and relaxing day out.
Porthtowan Beach is located within the St Agnes AONB, an area renowned for its stunning natural beauty. The beach is surrounded by imposing cliffs, adding to its dramatic scenery.
Porthtowan Beach is adjacent to the South West Coast Path.
