Porth Joke Beach is situated just south of Fistral Bay in Newquay, between Kelsey Head and West Pentire. The beach is approximately a 15-minute walk from the nearest car parks, including the National Trust car park on Cubert Common (SW778601) and private pay-and-display car parks at West Pentire, as well as Crantock car park.
The beach is a charming, unspoilt sandy cove nestled between the two craggy headlands of Pentire Point West and Kelsey Head. It is generally less busy than its neighbouring beaches and offers breathtaking views of the Atlantic Coast, which can be accessed via the South West Coast Path from Hollywell Beach.
There are no lifeguards or facilities at Porth Joke Beach, but visitors can use the nearby Treago Farm Caravan & Camping Site as a base for exploring the area. The beach is dog-friendly all year round.
