Aberarth Beach is a charming coastal spot located on the remote Ceredigion coast, between Cardigan and Aberystwyth.
The beach at Aberarth is a pebbly one, featuring a mix of shingle and pebbles, interspersed with groynes and backed by grasslands. Parts of the beach have low-rise clay cliffs, and at low tide, some areas of coarse sand are exposed. The beach is also known for having lots of shells and is popular with local surfers.
The small fishing village of Aberarth lies nearby, but it has limited facilities. However, the nearby village of Aberaeron, about one mile south-west of the beach, offers a range of amenities, including pubs, seafood restaurants, and shops. The Ceredigion Coastal Path and the Wales Coastal Path both pass nearby, providing access to stunning views and opportunities for hiking, surfing, and sea angling.
This part of the coast is a good place to spot bird life, including chough, stonechat, and even the occasional peregrine falcon. The beach and surrounding coastal path offer a range of activities, including surfing, sea angling, and hiking.
Aberarth Beach is adjacent to the Ceredigion Coast Path and the Wales Coast Path.
