Maenporth Beach is situated two miles from Falmouth town centre, along the South West Coast Path. The beach is a remote, sheltered sandy cove, approximately 200 metres wide, surrounded by low hills and overlooking Falmouth Bay. From the beach, Pendennis Castle and the lighthouse on St Anthony Head can be seen.
The beach gently slopes into the sea, making it ideal for swimming and paddling. Visitors can also enjoy various water activities, including kayaking, paddleboarding, and sailing. The wreck of the Ben Asdale, a Scottish trawler that sank in 1978, can be explored at low tide. A cafe, Life's A Beach, is located on the beach, providing refreshments and a place to rest. They also have a beach wheelchair available for visitors.
The beach has parking available right by the beach, making it easily accessible for both locals and tourists. The beach is a popular spot for families, with soft sand and shallow waters, making it a safe spot for kids to play. However, the beach can get crowded on hot, sunny days, especially during the peak season.
There is a seasonal ban on dogs on Maenporth Beach from July 1st to August 31st, between the hours of 10am and 6pm. Visitors are advised to be aware of the tide, which goes out quite far but comes back in quickly.
Maenporth Beach is adjacent to the South West Coast Path.
