Llanbedrog Beach is a sandy bay nestled in the shadow of the steep Mynydd tir-y-cwmwd headland. The beach is located on the south coast of the Llŷn Peninsula and boasts vast swathes of golden sands that give way to shallow seas, ideal for swimming in the warmer months. The beach has retained its former charm and remains a popular destination for families.
The beach gained popularity in the 1890s when a tramway was erected by Solomon Andrews, providing access to the town from neighbouring Pwllheli. Today, visitors can enjoy a range of amenities, including a café, disabled access, and toilets.
The beach offers a range of activities for younger visitors, including a National Trust "Family Fun Adventure Pack" which features beach-themed activities such as leaf trails and wildlife games. Nature enthusiasts can spot birds like oyster catchers and curlews, which wander the beach in search of food. The beach also has winding paths that lead to lush woodlands and heaths along the headland.
One of the best walks from Llanbedrog Beach is the ramble up to Mynydd Tir y Cwmwd, which features the famous Tin Man sculpture and offers stunning vistas back over the wider Cardigan Bay.
The beach is lined with colourful seaside beach huts and offers a range of amenities, including a café, disabled access, and toilets.
