Rhos-y-Llan Beach, also known as Porth Towyn Beach, is a secluded sandy cove located on the northern coast of the Lleyn Peninsula in Wales.
Rhos-y-Llan Beach is situated near the small village of Tudweiliog, on the northern coast of the Lleyn Peninsula. The beach is a small bay flanked by gently sloping grassy cliffs and backed by grassy hills. It is nestled next to Porth Yslaig and is one of the more remote beaches in the area.
There are no visitor facilities at Rhos-y-Llan Beach, but shops and cafes can be found in Pwllheli, located on the other side of the peninsula. Parking spots are available near the beach, including at a nearby farm. Alternatively, visitors can park in Tudweiliog village and make a 10-minute walk down to the beach.
The beach itself is a sandy cove with sand that 'squeaks' when walked upon, similar to its more famous neighbour, Whistling Sands. The gently sloping grassy cliffs provide shelter from the wind, while the beach's exposed location allows it to pick up some surf.
Dogs are not allowed on the beach between 1st April and 30th September, inclusive.
Rhos-y-Llan Beach is adjacent to the Llyn Peninsula Coastal Path and the Wales Coast Path.
