Marazion West Beach, also known simply as Marazion, is characterised by an expanse of hard sand backed by coastal protection walls made of granite. The beach offers stunning views of St Michael's Mount and is a favourite among walkers. A cycle path runs along the back of the beach, providing a scenic route for cyclists.
Marazion West Beach is situated in Mounts Bay, on the south coast of Cornwall. The bay is home to four designated bathing waters: Wherry Town, Penzance, Heliport, and Marazion. Marazion beach itself is approximately 880 metres wide and features the Red River flowing onto its centre.
The beach is a sand and pebble stretch located opposite the iconic St Michael's Mount, which can be reached via a causeway at low tide. The village of Marazion offers a range of amenities, including shops and cafes, and there is a good children's playground adjacent to a large grassy car park. The beach is safe and sheltered, making it an ideal spot for families.
Marazion Beach is a mile-long stretch of sandy paradise, known for its excellent conditions for windsurfing, kite surfing, and sailing. The beach attracts families during the holidays with its safe, clean water and lifeguard patrol. The town and children's playground are close by, and the beach offers beautiful views of St Michael's Mount and castle.
Marazion Beach is dog friendly in the winter, but restricted from May 1st to September 30th – 8am to 7pm. The beach is easily accessible, with ample parking and amenities available.
Marazion West Beach is adjacent to the South West Coast Path.
