Penzance Wherry Town Beach is characterised by an expanse of hard sand backed by coastal protection walls of granite. The beach offers stunning views of St Michael's Mount and is a favourite among walkers. A cycle path runs along the back of the beach, providing a scenic route for cyclists.
Mounts Bay is situated on the south coast of Cornwall, and Wherry Town Beach is one of four designated bathing waters located around the bay. The beach is approximately one kilometre wide and is flanked by the Newlyn River at its western end and the Larrigan River at its eastern end.
Public facilities are available at nearby beaches, including Marazion, Perranuthnoe, and Praa Sands. Wherry Town Beach is an ideal spot for families, with easy access from the promenade and a range of activities on offer, including watersports. The south west coast path runs along the beach front promenade, and there are also parking and facilities nearby.
Dogs are restricted from Wherry Town to Battery Rocks between 1st July and 31st August, 10am-6pm.
Penzance Wherry Town Beach is adjacent to the South West Coast Path.
