Polkerris Beach is a small, sheltered sandy bay approximately 170 metres wide, surrounded by cliffs and overlooking St Austell Bay. The beach is situated in the village of Polkerris, nestled between St Austell and Fowey, and is a firm favourite with holidaymakers.
The beach offers a range of facilities, including watersports equipment hire, a slipway, and a stone quay providing shelter from the wind. Visitors can enjoy a range of activities, such as paddleboarding, kayaking, and sailing, or simply relax on the beach and build sandcastles. There are also several restaurants, cafes, and pubs in the area, including the beach front restaurant and the Rashleigh Inn.
The beach is privately owned and has restrictions on dogs during peak holiday seasons, but they are welcome on the beach from October to Easter. The area is also home to the South West Coast path, which runs behind the beach, and is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty.
Polkerris Beach is located on the south coast of Cornwall, close to Par sands, and is easily accessible via a slipway.
Polkerris Beach is on the Gribbin Head - Polperro Heritage Coast, and adjacent to the South West Coast Path.
