Porthbean Beach lies in Garrans Bay, south of Nare Head on the South West Coast Path. The beach is only accessible on foot, with the village of Trewithian located approximately 3/4 mile back from the coast. A hotel is situated on the headland overlooking the beach.
Porthbean Beach, also referred to as Porthbean Cove, is a sandy and shingle beach framed by rocky outcrops. The beach can be reached by descending wooden steps, which lead to soft sand interspersed with shingle. At low tide, the beach reveals expansive stretches of sand and fascinating rock pools, making it an ideal spot for exploration.
The secluded nature of Porthbean Beach makes it a perfect spot for those seeking tranquility and a peaceful retreat. Visitors can unwind to the sound of lapping waves and coastal breezes. The beach welcomes four-legged friends all year round, making it a great spot for a seaside walk with canine companions.
Porthbean Beach is on The Roseland Heritage Coast, and adjacent to the South West Coast Path.
