Pendower Beach is located on the south coast of Cornwall, within a bay on the Roseland Peninsula south of Truro. The beach is approximately 850 metres wide and is backed by low cliffs and grassy dunes. Three streams flow onto the beach, which is surrounded by scenic countryside.
The beach features low soft cliffs and rock pools, which have been designated Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI's) due to their unique geological and biological characteristics. At low tide, the beach reveals its full size, joining with neighbouring Carne Beach to create over a mile of uninterrupted shoreline.
The beach and surrounding area are home to a rich variety of wildlife, including colourful butterflies, birds, seals, and dolphins. Visitors can enjoy long walks along the beach, explore the rock pools, and stroll along the South West Coast Path, which runs along the beach and offers breathtaking views of the coastline.
There is a pay-and-display car park nearby, and seasonal toilets are available, including an accessible toilet at Carne Beach open year-round. Visitors are advised to arrive early to secure a parking spot, especially during peak season, as the approach road can be narrow with limited passing places.
Pendower Beach is on The Roseland Heritage Coast, and adjacent to the South West Coast Path.
