Rhoscolyn Borthwen Beach is situated on the southern shore of Holyhead island, on the west coast of Anglesey. The beach is a south-facing, sweeping cove of sand, measuring 250 metres at low tide, which is backed by dunes. At high tide, the beach is mainly shingle. The bay is nestled within the Anglesey Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Holy Island Coast Special Protection Area, and the Glannau Rhoscolyn Site of Special Scientific Interest, highlighting the area's high conservation status.
The beach is characterised by its shallow sloping sands, making it an ideal location for families. In addition to the sandy beach, there are also rock pools and a few small rocky islets along the length of the beach. Basic amenities, including toilets and showers, are available for visitors. Access to the beach is via a narrow lane, with a small car park nearby.
Rhoscolyn Beach is a popular spot for various water activities, including fishing, sailing, and diving. The beach's unique combination of sandy and rocky features makes it an attractive location for those seeking to explore the marine environment.
