Ynyslas Beach lies between Cardigan Bay and the Dyfi Estuary, approximately one mile north of Borth on the coast of Ceredigion. The beach is part of the Ynyslas Sand Dunes, which are included in the Dyfi National Nature Reserve, a protected area that hosts a variety of rare plants and wildlife. The beach features a wide expanse of sand stretching 3 miles northwards to the sand dunes and the Dyfi Estuary, and is backed by an extensive dune system and the Ynyslas National Nature Reserve.
Visitors come to the beach to relax, walk amongst the dunes, and look for interesting shells. The beach is also popular with kite surfers due to the suitable conditions. However, swimming is not recommended due to the presence of strong river currents. Dogs are not allowed on the beach from May 1 to September 30. There is a tradition of parking cars on a roped-off part of the beach, in return for a small fee.
At low tide, a huge beach is exposed, and occasionally, the remains of a prehistoric forest can be seen, with stumps of ancient trees visible on the mudflats. The beach offers views across the estuary towards Aberdyfi, with a magnificent hilly backdrop in the distance.
Twyni Bach Beach is adjacent to the Ceredigion Coast Path.
