Cadgwith Cove is situated just to the east of Lizard Point, the most southerly point on mainland Britain. The village lies on the South West Coast Path, making it a favourite among coastal walkers. The cove is characterised by a small shingle beach that doubles as a harbour, surrounded by a jumble of whitewashed thatched cottages.
The clear and clean waters of Cadgwith Cove make it an ideal spot for snorkelling and diving. The cove is also close to several shipwrecks, attracting adventurous divers. A smaller, rock and pebble cove is located just on the other side of a little headland, while the "Devil's Frying Pan", a natural blowhole, can be found a short walk along the coast.
The Devil's Frying Pan is a 200-foot deep blowhole formed by the collapse of a cave. This geological wonder is famous for the dramatic waves that crash against the cliffs, sending sprays of water high into the air. The blowhole is located near Cadgwith Cove and can be accessed via the South West Coast Path.
The beach at Cadgwith Cove is dog-friendly, with some restrictions in place during the summer months. Dogs are allowed on the eastern beach year-round, while the western beach has a seasonal ban from July 1 to August 31, between 10am and 6pm.
Cadgwith Cove is on The Lizard Heritage Coast, and adjacent to the South West Coast Path.
