Church Cove is a sheltered south-west-facing cove situated near Helston, on the south Cornwall coast. The cove is characterised by a sandy beach scattered with sand and pebbles, backed by low-lying dunes, and features numerous rockpools. A small church, St. Winwaloe's Church, with an unusual detached bell tower, is situated at the north of the beach, perched on the cliffs overlooking the cove.
The cove is popular for swimming, surfing, and families. A beach cafe serves snacks and ice cream during the summer months, and toilets are available. The cove is usually fairly quiet, but is a recommended destination for those seeking a picturesque spot.
St. Winwaloe's Church, which dates back to the 12th century, adds a unique charm to the area. The nearest parking is a National Trust Car Park on the cliffs above neighbouring Dollar Cove.
Dogs are allowed on the beach all year, except from July 1st to August 31st, when they are banned from the beach between 10am and 6pm. Outside of these dates and times, dogs are allowed on the beach, making it a dog-friendly location for most of the year.
Church Cove is on The Lizard Heritage Coast, and adjacent to the South West Coast Path.
