It is a small sandy cove, approximately 250 metres wide, backed by sand dunes. A stream flows across the beach to the sea.
Poldhu Cove is on The Lizard Heritage Coast, and adjacent to the South West Coast Path.

Dogs are not allowed on the beach between Easter Sunday and 30 September.
