Mouthwell Sands is a charming and secluded beach located in the picturesque fishing village of Hope Cove on the South Devon coast.
Mouthwell Sands is a small, family-friendly beach situated on the northern side of Hope Cove. The beach is a quiet sandy bay sheltered from the wind by steep cliffs, making it an ideal location for sunbathing, building sand castles, and swimming. A stream runs down the beach, which is popular with children who enjoy splashing about in it with buckets and spades.
The beach offers a lifeguard service during the summer months, and there are rock pools to explore during low tide. Visitors can access the beach via a small slipway, with parking available at the top of the beach (charges apply). Mouthwell Sands is situated in an Area of Natural Beauty, and the South West Coast Path runs past the beach. There are plenty of walks in the area, including routes to Thurlestone to the north and Bolberry Down to the south. The beach is a great spot for a family day out, and Hope Cove is a charming destination for those looking to enjoy a relaxing day by the sea.
