Thurlestone North and Leas Foot are two beaches that boast coarse sand, rocky outcrops, and numerous rock pools to explore at low tide. The most prominent feature of these beaches is the famous Thurlstone Rock, best seen at high tide.
Thurlestone North is situated near the golf course and offers coarse sand with rocky outcrops and many rock pools to explore. The famous Thurlestone Rock is a notable feature of this beach. Visitors can walk towards South Milton to access additional facilities.
Leas Foot, on the other hand, is a remote sandy beach approximately 250 metres wide, backed by sand dunes. At low tide, rock pools are exposed, and a stream flows across the beach to the sea.
Leas Foot Sands is a smaller, sandy beach located in front of the Thurlestone Golf Club, just north of Thurlestone beach. This beach is generally less crowded than its neighbour and often more sheltered from the breeze by the headland of Warren Point. Visitors can enjoy swimming, snorkelling, and rock-pooling, although there is no lifeguard service. The beach has no facilities, but public toilets are available across the road beyond the golf course, and parking is accessible a short walk away on the far side of the golf course.
Thurlestone South – Leas Foot Sand Beach, on the Devon coast, is backed by the South West coast path. On sunny days, the beach is popular with sunbathers and families, with the occasional kayaker passing by. The beach is located on the south side of the Thurlestone Golf course, and while there is a car park at the golf course, it is for members only. A public car park is available about 200 yards away, on the right. This beach is dog-friendly, allowing visitors to bring their pets all year round.
Leas Foot Sands is a sandy beach located near Kingsbridge in Devon, and dogs are permitted all year round.
Thurlestone Leasfoot Beach is on the South Devon Heritage Coast, and adjacent to the South West Coast Path.
