Yarmer Beach is a good-sized stretch of sandy beach situated to the north of the more popular Thurlestone Beach. Although it is the closest beach to the village, there is no direct road access, making it a hidden gem that can be reached on foot via the foreshore from Leas Foot Beach or through the footpaths of Thurlestone Golf Course.
The beach is backed by sandy dunes and features rock pools at either end, making it an ideal spot for families with children. However, visitors should note that there are virtually no amenities and no lifeguard on duty. Beyond the dunes lies Thurlestone Golf Club, and access to the beach is via the coastal path.
Also known as Thurlestone North, this unspoilt beach is a lovely sweeping stretch of coastline, offering stunning views of Bigbury Bay. The beach is part of the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) in the South Hams district and is backed by the Thurlestone Golf Course. The South West Coast Path runs along the beach, and while there are no facilities, the golf club is located at the southern end. This beach is dog-friendly, making it a great spot for dog owners.
