Salcombe South Sands is a picturesque and popular beach located in the Salcombe - Kingsbridge Estuary, known for its sheltered sandy bay and range of amenities.

Salcombe South Sands is a sheltered sandy bay situated in the Salcombe - Kingsbridge Estuary, making it a popular destination for families. The beach is nestled in a small east-facing bay, sheltered from the south-westerly breeze and surrounded by high cliffs. The estuary is also designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, a Site of Special Scientific Interest, and a Nature Reserve.

The beach is located near the entrance to Salcombe Harbour and can be accessed by car, with limited parking available, or by taking the passenger ferry from Whitestrand Quay in Salcombe.

The beach offers a range of facilities, including a shop, cafe, and local pub. Visitors can also enjoy various water sports, such as canoeing, sailing, windsurfing, and diving. The beach is ideally located to take advantage of the excellent sailing opportunities in the area, and Salcombe has become one of the largest yachting centres in England.

The surrounding area offers a range of amenities, including beautiful sandy beaches, coastal walking routes, fishing opportunities, and a variety of shops, pubs, tearooms, and restaurants. The beach is wide and sandy at low tide, but is almost completely covered by the rising tide at high tide.

Salcombe South Sands is on the South Devon Heritage Coast, and adjacent to the South West Coast Path.
